This is the privacy notice of Dr Hypnotherapy. In this document, we refer to Dr Hypnotherapy.
I am registered with the ICO (Information Commissioners Office) which means I need to tell you what data I am collecting from you and what I intend to do with it.
This privacy notice aims to inform you about how we collect and process any information that we collect from you, or that you provide to us. It covers information that could identify you (“personal information”) and information that could not. In the context of the law and this notice, “process” means collect, store, transfer, use or otherwise act on information. It tells you about your privacy rights and how the law protects you.
We are committed to protecting your privacy and the confidentiality of your personal information. Our policy is not just an exercise in complying with the law, but a continuation of our respect for you and your personal information.
We undertake to preserve the confidentiality of all information you provide to us, and hope that you reciprocate.
Our policy complies with the Data Protection Act 2018 (Act) accordingly incorporating the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Except as set out below, we do not share, or sell, or disclose to a third party, any information collected through our website.
What data do I keep and why do I need it?
Name and age – this is basic information that helps me get to know you.
Address, email address, phone number – I use this as a way of contacting you regarding your session(s). I will mainly use the method you first contacted me on but if I cannot reach you, I will try a different method.
Next of kin/ GP’s details – If I was worried that you were at risk then I may need to contact your next of kin or GP if I can. I will let you know when/if I am going to do this.
Session notes – I keep brief anonymous notes of our session(s), description of system they are kept in if appropriate.
Will I share your data and if I do, who will I share it with and for what purpose?
It is very unlikely that I will share your data. I will not sell it on or use it for unethical reasons. I may have to share it if my notes are subpoenaed by court, if you or anyone you tell me about is at harm or risk of harm, I may have to pass this information on.
How will I store your data?
It is mainly stored as hard copy in a locked filing cabinet. Immediately after the work is finished, I transfer the data with your initials to my password protected computer. Your phone number(s) may be kept in my business mobile phone with your first name and last initial. Only I will access your information.
How long will I store your data for and how will I dispose of it?
I will keep our session notes with your initials for 2 years.
I will shred this and any other document with your personal information on 1 year after our work finishes.
I will delete your phone number out of my mobile phone 12 months after our work finishes.
By using our website and my services you agree with the above statements.
Use of information we collect through automated systems when you visit our website

Personal identifiers from your browsing activity

We use this information in aggregate to assess the popularity of the webpages on our website and how we perform in providing content to you.
If combined with other information we know about you from previous visits, the data possibly could be used to identify you personally, even if you are not signed in to our website.
Our use of re-marketing
Re-marketing involves placing a cookie on your computer when you browse our website in order to be able to serve to you an advert for our products or services when you visit some other website.
Use of site by children
We do not sell products or provide services for purchase by children, nor do we market to children.
If you are under 18, you may use our website only with consent from a parent or guardian
We collect data about all users of and visitors to these areas regardless of age, and we anticipate that some of those users and visitors will be children.

We use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) certificates to verify our identity to your browser and to encrypt any data you give us.

We may update this privacy notice from time to time as necessary. The terms that apply to you are those posted here on our website on the day you use our website. We advise you to print a copy for your records.
